The Cascadia Climate Action Calendar. . . A Menu of Climate Action Events
The Climate Action Calendar is a comprehensive listing of events from and for individuals, groups, and organizations working to address climate change around the Cascadia region. Whether you are new to climate action or a seasoned activist, a group of friends or an organization, you can to find something (or many things!) that you can do to be part of the solution to climate change.
- Look for events that fit your available time, your concerns and values, and your strengths and skills.
- Import the calendar to your own calendar by clicking on the Google symbol in the bottom right hand corner.
- Submit events for posting or make suggestions by emailing climatecommunity.cascadia@gmail.com.
- If you represent a group or organization, you can use this calendar to avoid conflicts when scheduling events, as well as to find events where your organization can collaborate as a partner or sponsor.
The calendar is intend to be available for use throughout the Cascadia region: Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and beyond! While initiallly, events have been principally in and around the Seattle area, now there are an increasing number of events from other Cascadia communities.
Here’s a short introduction on how to use our calendar:
Click on the “VIEW AS” button at the top right of the calendar to switch the appearance from a list of events (the default view), a monthly, weekly and daily view, and, finally, a Google Maps view. Try them all to see which one you prefer!
To see what events fall on a specific date or month, click on the “DATE” field on the left-most side of the box at the top of the calendar.
If you want to search for events by keyword, type what you're looking for into the “SEARCH” field.
You can even see what events are located near you by entering your town or zip code into the “LOCATION” field.
Once you click on the title of an event, you’ll be brought to a page that gives you more information. Usually this page will contain a website for the event, the contact information of the event’s organizer, a view of the event on Google Maps and an in-depth description.
